- 312 E. Broad Street Richmond, Virginia 37º32'38" N, 77º26'20" W Sears, Roebuck & Company moved into this building in the 1930s, just after they left their location at 201 W. Broad Street. The building now houses a convenience store, a drug store, and the Broadway Apartments. The vertical sign on the front of the building spells out "Broadway" but I'm sure the sign pre-dates the apartments. I understand there was a Rayless Department Store here at some point. The city directories for 1928 and 1929 list the occupant here as "L F M Stores Co." The listing for 1936 is "Sears, Roebuck and Co." Update: the upper floors of this building were converted to apartments in 2005.
