- 401 N. 27th Street Richmond, Virginia 37º31'53" N, 77º24'58" W In the early 19th century, Captain Charles Wills owned all the land that is now the 400 block of N. 27th Street. In 1812 he build his home at 407 N. 27th Street, a house that still stands and is occupied. Along with other out-buildings, he also built this structure as a grocery store on the edge of his property. Constructed not later than 1815, it is said to be the oldest standing commercial building in Richmond. It is currently unoccupied.
