Payne's home address is given in the 1879 city directory as 600 N. 30th Street, his occupation listed as grocer, and his business address 401 N. 27th Street. That business address is pictured here . The 1881 city directory still shows Payne as a grocer at 401, but now lists his home address next door, at 403 N. 27th Street.
