- 2892 Mountain Road Glen Allen, Virginia Completed 1825 37º39'56" N, 77º29'59" W I suspect that the word "tavern" is included in this site's name only because it sounds historically romantic. A tavern was operated here 1828-1829 and again in 1853; otherwise the building has been primarily a private residence. It has also occasionally functioned as a Civil War field hospital, a store, post office, and voting precinct. It is presently owned by Henrico County and serves as a community center as well as a conference and meeting venue, and for weddings. In 2012 President Obama held a reelection campaign rally here.
