Description:: Fox Farm, located at 2221 Grove Avenue in the Fan District, was purchased by the Gillettes on August 15, 1923. Bricks from the original kitchen were used to build high walls that enclosed a long back yard running down to an alley. There was also a walled-in patio to one side. Wide flower beds were planted on either side of a path which extended the length of the yard.; The sundial and back porch are also visible in this photograph. Photographs 140-143 and 145 show this area of the garden as it appeared during the first year. Photograph 151 is from the ninth year. 1 photograph : b&w ; 9 x 15 cm.
