Boulevard, comprise the Boulevard Historic District as listed in 1986 in the National Register of Historic Places. The Boulevard was originally called Clover Street, a country lane laid out in 1817 in the Sydney subdivision. Clover Street remained a quiet road until 1875 when the City of Richmond constructed a reservoir at present day Byrd Park. By 1890 Clover Street, renamed Boulevard, provided access from the Main Street trolley car line to Reservoir Park. A boom in new housing occurred in the period 1910-1935; the three structures shown are representative.
