- 3100 N. Boulevard Richmond, Virginia 37º34'27" N, 77º27'50" W In the East Coast convenience store war, there are said to be two opposing sides: those who love Wawa and those who are passionate about Sheetz. (There's actually a third group of us who don't care one way or the other, but never mind us.) Wawa people have a new reason to rejoice with the opening of this store on October 18, 2018. Previously there was a Bill's Barbecue on this site. Wawa stores originated in the Wawa area of Pennsylvania. The word comes from the Ojibwe word for "goose," hence the goose in the store's logo.
