Description:
3004B W. Cary Street Richmond, Virginia 37º33'9" N, 77º28'45" W The original Virginia Diner opened in Wakefield, Virginia in 1929, and was actually a diner. Being in a peanut growing regioin, the diner became known for its roasted peanuts. This, the Virginia Diner Shoppe, has no diner but specializes in peanuts and a few other specialty foods such as bottled sauces. This building was previously home to Champagne & Shoes, a women's fashion store. Virginia Diner Shoppe opened here June 5, 2014, and now in 2019 the store owner has decided not to renew his lease. Two other stores in the Richmond area will remain open.
