- 2803 Dock Street Richmond, Virginia 37°31'34" N 77°25'20" W This 12-foot tall concrete wall is matched by a mirror image structure behind the photographer. Dating from the late 1890s, they were once part of a dry dock at the Trigg Shipyard, named for Richmond business man William R. Trigg. With the labor of some 2,000 workers, on October 31, 1899 the shipyard launched its first boat, the USS Shubrick, presided over by President William McKinley and some 30,000 celebrants. The shipyard was short-lived however; Trigg declared bankruptcy in 1903.
