Felice II Janice Lancaster Biota (part 3), 2022 Light, sound, movement, aluminum, 3D Bioprints, fabric, floating platform, various electronics "Installed in Youngs Pond in Bryan Park, Biota (part 3) is a floating sculpture that doubles as a projection and performance space. From the adjacent shore area in real time, Gene A. Felice II will project site-specific imagery from his Mobile Coaction Lab onto the floating structure and the surrounding landscapes, exploring the delicate balance maintained by native ecosystems. Janice Lancaster will move within and around these surfaces, interacting with the sculptural projections on the floating platform as well as the light and sound projected from shore. The floating structure will also reflect on the water, creating a double-sided, illusory form. In so doing, the two artists will connect human and non-human organisms, as well as native and invasive species, to build empathy across a multitude of scales for often ignored or unseen life." -from the installation placard
