(inherited from collection) - Description:
- 2/2 The crosswalks on Cary Street vary in amount of safety. In 2019, the city removed all the elevated crosswalks, so now the street is level with the crosswalk. Not every crosswalk has a bump out. The crosswalk at McCloy has a tree blocking visibility of both people needing to cross the street and their views of approaching traffic. At no point on Cary Street within Carytown is there any signage about crosswalks or reminders that pedestrians have the right of way. It's a busy and sometimes fast road and cars rarely - rarely - stop as they should at the crosswalks. Of course, they're easy to miss. Compare this photo to my previous photo on Grove (photo 1/2).
