- Black and white photograph showing an office building housing Central Fidelity Bank on the corner of 8th and Main Streets in the Financial District of Richmond, Virginia. __The donor and photographer was trying to recreate views from a facsimile reprint of "Illustrated Guide to Richmond, The Confederate Capital" from the City Intelligencer of 1862. The images in this collection were rejects from the project.<br />This image is referencing a steel engraving from the "Journal of an Excursion from Troy, N. Y. to General Carr's Head Quarters by one of the Party...May 1865," showing the Spotswood Hotel at the corner of Main and 8th Streets.
