Description:: Black and white photograph showing the U.S. Court of Appeals (U.S. Post Office and Customhouse) building on Main Street in downtown Richmond, Virginia; multi-story Italianate granite and limestone building. __The donor and photographer was trying to recreate views from a facsimile reprint of "Illustrated Guide to Richmond, The Confederate Capital" from the City Intelligencer of 1862. The images in this collection were rejects from the project.<br />This image is referencing a lithograph in F. W. Beers' "Illustrated Atlas of the City of Richmond, 1876" showing the Custom House (C.
