- Black and white photograph showing the James Monroe building on the northeast corner of 14th and Franklin Streets in downtown Richmond, Virginia; view of parking deck, walkway and base of Virginia state office building; built in 1981. __The donor and photographer was trying to recreate views from a facsimile reprint of "Illustrated Guide to Richmond, The Confederate Capital" from the City Intelligencer of 1862. The images in this collection were rejects from the project.<br />This image is referencing a lithograph by Simons (about 1860) from a drawing by Albert Lybrock showing The Ballard House Hotel at the northeast corner of 14th and Franklin Streets.
