- Black and white photograph showing a view looking southeast from the north side of the James River in Richmond, Virginia; view across fields towards river; remains of Tredegar Iron Works in foreground; Manchester Bridge and Southern States buildings in distance. __The donor and photographer was trying to recreate views from a facsimile reprint of "Illustrated Guide to Richmond, The Confederate Capital" from the City Intelligencer of 1862. The images in this collection were rejects from the project.<br />This image is likely referencing a wood engraving from a drawing by Benson J. Lossing in his "Pictorial History of the United States of America (1868) showing the Tredegar Iron Works on the banks of the James River.
