It sits on a raised basement and has a wooden porch which appears to be thirty years more recent than the house. Original Note \(transcribed from book\): The 500 Block of West Marshall Street - This block contains a number of interesting pre-Civil War houses as well as some Italianate dwellings. The small size of most of these houses contributes to the street's character and charm.
