Building labeled "coal elevator" matches construction of Hawes & Co. Coal and Wood Yard in 1905 Sanborn. One half of the Canal lock can be seen after the steam ship, so center of picture is tip of Chapel Island. Tracing this back, it seems that this picture was taken near the hill at Nicholson and Main.
