- Black and white photograph of Carlton Allen and Michael Short looking at a memorial marker on the edge of Richmond's East End landfill; with the boys is St. James Gergat, curator of collections at the Valentine Museum; the boys discovered the basalt carving while exploring; Gergat theorized that the marker may be a discarded base from the Poe monument on Capitol Hill.
